Burnley vs Brighton betting tips

Matches between these clubs generally end all-square (see above) and there is every reason to believe this one could result in another stalemate.

Brighton are having the better season of this duo by a long way, having risen into the top half of the Premier League table with back-to-back wins against Huddersfield and Crystal Palace.

Red cards were a feature of those victories with Steve Mounie’s sending off for Huddersfield tilting the game towards the Seagulls, who then survived Shane Duffy’s dismissal against Palace when they were 1-0 up to extend their advantage to a final scoreline of 3-1.

Key centre-half Duffy, who received his marching orders for a head-butt on Patrick van Aanholt, will be suspended for this game and there was also a doubt at the time of writing about star striker Glenn Murray who had to be substituted with a shoulder injury.

However, even if Murray is ruled out, Chris Hughton has an able deputy in Florin Andone who has scored in both of the last two games.

The worry for Brighton, despite wins at Newcastle and Huddersfield this term, is that their away form is generally inferior to the results they produce at home.

That means Burnley have a chance here, even though they have been well out of sorts for most of the season, and the fact the Clarets led against Liverpool going into the final half hour on Wednesday before losing 3-1 suggests they should make a real fight of this game.
