New England Revolution v DC United betting preview

New England Revolution have had a mismatched start to the season. The men from Foxborough, Massachusetts face an uphill struggle if they're to finish towards the top of the Eastern Conference table but they have a real chance of finishing in the play-offs if they can find some consistency this season, particularly in front of their own fans.

In their four away games so far this term, the Revs have managed to pick up just one solitary point from their draw at Portland Timbers but in two matches at the Gillette Stadium they've managed to pick up the seven points thanks to wins over Minnesota United and Houston Dynamo and despite a midweek draw with San Jose Earthquakes they're favourites for three more points here at 8/11 with Ladbrokes.

DC United have traditionally struggled in the early stages of Major League Soccer seasons. The men from the capital struggled to get themselves off the foot of the Eastern Conference in the early stages of last season and it seemed as though the new campaign may have been heading the same way after one draw and two defeats in their first three matches.

Since then however, Ben Olsen's men have improved dramatically to pick up victories over Philadelphia Union and New York City and the RFK Memorial Stadium. It's away from home where their struggles are evident but with the quality in their squad, DCU definitely have the ability to challenge at the top end of the table this year, but can they to earn a first away win of the season at 4/1 with bet365 this weekend?

After a boring goalless draw was played out between Revolution and the San Jose Earthquakes in midweek, we're expecting another low-scoring game in Foxborough on Saturday night. Under 2.5 goals have been scored in four of the Revs' first seven games of the season whilst DCU have failed to find the net in their two away games so far this term. Under 2.5 goals is priced at evens with Ladbrokes.

Playing away from home in Major League Soccer seems to be more difficult than ever this season and DCU's results certainly display that. The men from the capital have comfortably lost their first two matches on the road this term and the Revs are expected to take full advantage this weekend. It'll be a tight game though and one goal could be enough to seal it so we're backing the correct score selection at 15/2 with BetVictor.

Recommended bets:
Under 2.5 goals @ evens with Ladbrokes
Revolution to win 1-0 @ 15/2 with BetVictor
