Houston Dynamo vs. San Jose Earthquakes Betting Tips
SJ Earthquakes travel to Houston hoping to build on their two home draws (holding off Seattle Sounders and Dallas) and build towards the top of the table over the rivals. However, with their woes on the road and Dynamo’s fine home form this season, we don’t’ see them taking anything away from this fixture and we’ll go for a home win here at a good-looking 5/6 with William Hill
Houston Dynamo have earned three wins and a draw in their four home matches, bagging all of their ten-point total there. While they’ve rather comfortably lost both at Portland Timbers (4-2) and New England (2-0) in the process, their 2-2 draw against Minnesota United has kept their unbeaten streak intact so we don’t feel they’ll lose on confidence although they’ve dropped a 2-0 lead there.
They’ve already beaten Seattle Sounders (2-1), Columbus Crew (3-1), and New York Red Bulls (4-1) there and it’s hard seeing the visitors deny them a return to that streak now. Earthquakes have continued their poor run on the road into the new season and we’ve now seen them suffer five straight losses, dropping points at Sporting KC (2-1) and New York City (2-1) this term.
The visitors will be no pushovers and we do feel they’ll find their way to the scoresheet as well, but Houston should be able to secure the points in the end. With that in mind, we expect a narrow contest and we’ll go for Over 2.5 goals FT hoping to see San Jose outgunned at BBVA Compass Stadium, backing it at Evens with BetVictor
Houston Dynamo vs. San Jose Earthquakes Stats
We’ve seen just that in all of their last four head-to-head encounters, where both sides scored at least a goal on all four occasions in exciting matchups. San Jose Earthquakes have snatched a point on their last away day at this ground (1-1 draw in August), but Dynamo have been able to return the favour and bag away points just 20 days later with a 1-2 win.
We’ll now back them to build on the tally in a similar clash and go for a 2-1 correct score prediction, which looks great value at 15/2 with Ladbrokes
