The Premier League fixtures for the 2017/2018 season have been announced with newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion hosting Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on the opening weekend.

The announcement of the fixtures for the new season is always a date that whets the appetite of football fans missing out on Premier League action and the computer has not disappointed this year in bringing up some more intriguing clashes.

The opening day of the campaign will see newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion kick off their first ever Premier League season with a home tie against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, whilst champions Chelsea will play host to Sean Dyche's Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

In the second week of the season the Blues face a tough London derby against last season's runners up Tottenham Hotspur. This will be Spurs' first league match at Wembley Stadium, where they will compete this season during the development of their own stadium back in N17.

By the third week of the season we'll see another clash between two big sides as Arsene Wenger's Arsenal face up to Jurgen Klopp in the first month of the season as they did in 2016 and just one week after that the Reds face another potential title challenger in the shape of Manchester City.

The festive period always throws up some intriguing match-ups and this season will be no different. Brighton will face Chelsea on Boxing Day, whilst Newcastle play host to Manchester City and on the 30th January we'll see a London derby between West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

In terms of the big derbies, Manchester rivals United and City will face off on December 9th and April 7th and intriguingly, the Merseyside derbies will take place on the same weekends, whilst Tottenham head to the Emirates to face Arsenal in November, before the return fixture in February.

With the World Cup being played next summer in Russia, the Premier League will finish a week earlier this season on Sunday May 13th after getting underway on the weekend of the 12th/13th August. All of the current dates are subject to change due to TV scheduling over the course of the season.
