Mangala excited by Everton move

Eliaquim Mangala has insisted he is "very excited" by joining Everton on loan from Manchester City for the rest of the season.

The French defender was deemed surplus to requirements with the Premier League leaders when they signed his compatriot Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao on the eve of transfer deadline day.

After completing his temporary move to Merseyside, Mangala said: “Everton are a very good team with quality players and I want to play in a team that has a lot of quality and ambition.

“I want to bring my experience and all of my energy. There is already quality and experience at the club but it is very important for me to come here and add something more to the team.

“I am fresh, fit, very motivated and very excited about showing my qualities here.

“I am ready to play and win games, that is the most important thing for me."

Puel wants Mahrez back "with a smile"

Leicester City manager Claude Puel hopes wantaway winger Riyad Mahrez can be reintegrated into the team "with a smile" after his transfer request came to nothing.

The Algerian asked to leave the 2015-16 Premier League champions on Tuesday amid interest from Manchester City, who ultimately failed with four bids for the player.

Mahrez was understandably excluded from the Leicester squad that lost 2-1 at Everton but Puel hopes he can be back in action soon, even though a friend of the player reportedly told Sky Sports that the 26-year-old scorer of nine goals this season was "depressed" that the Foxes had blocked his desired move away.

Puel said: "We will see, but the most important thing is to keep my focus with the others and we will see with Riyad.

"It's of course always a difficult situation and we will have to manage this situation with Riyad. I hope he can come back quickly with us and with a smile and happy to play for us."

Mahrez still 3/1 to join Man City with Wills

Riyad Mahrez has handed in a transfer request at Leicester City after the club rejected three bids for his services from Manchester City including a £55m attempt last time out.

That means the Citizens will have to up their bid yet again and probably break the transfer record they set to sign Aymeric Laporte for £57m just a few days ago in order to get their man.

With the Algerian still trying to force a move this particular deal seems far from over just yet but you can still get odds of 3/1 at William Hill on Mahrez moving to Manchester City before the window shuts.
13:03 31 Jan

Luiz and Schurrle both 6/4 to complete deadline days

Looking for a flutter on deadline day? Ladbrokes are offering some great value on the final day and there are two 6/4 shots that have taken our fancy in particular.

David Luiz has been linked with a move away from Chelsea for quite some time now and after striking a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, there's a belief that Arsenal may be looking to bring in some defensive reinforcements. Would the Brazilian fit the bill?

In the Midlands, West Bromwich Albion secured the loan signing of Daniel Sturridge earlier in the week and they're now being heavily linked with former Chelsea star Andre Schurrle, again odds of 6/4 available at Ladbrokes.
12:21 31 Jan

Newcastle hopeful of Slimani deal

Newcastle are looking at bringing in Leicester City forward Islam Slimani on a loan deal until the end of the season as they look for a replacement for Aleksandr Mitrovic.

The Algerian forward has scored 12 times in 44 appearances for the Foxes since joining in 2016 from Sporting Lisbon and could offer something different at the spearhead of the Magpies attack.
11:13 31 Jan

Arsenal confirm Aubameyang signing

Arsenal have finally confirmed the club record signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a fee of around £60m.

The Gabon international racked up 98 goals in 144 appearances for BVB over a five year spell.

This transfer could now open up the door for Olivier Giroud to join Chelsea and Michy Batshuayi to leave the Blues for a loan switch to BVB.

Is this how the Gunners will line-up with Aubameyang in their squad?

11:11 31 Jan

Broken Promes for Saints

Southampton's hopes of signing Quincy Promes appear to have been dashed as his club CSKA Moscow are struggling to bring in a replacement for the striker before the deadline.

The Saints are said to have met the Russian side's £30m valuation of the 26 year old, who has scored 10 goals already this season for CSKA, but with few options of a replacement out there, it seems as though this deal is dead in the water.

Ayew edging closer to Swans return

Andre Ayew could be set to return to the Liberty Stadium as Carlos Carvalhal looks to deliver on his promise of new players at the Liberty Stadium before the transfer window slams shut this evening.

The Ghanain international left the Swans for West Ham United 18 months ago and has racked up 43 appearances and nine goals for the Hammers, but could now be set to return to South Wales to link up with his brother Jordan, who currently plies his trade for the club.
11:06 31 Jan

Ndong headed to Watford?

Sunderland are one club who are set to be among the news on deadline day and one player who could be departing is Didier Ndong, with Watford looking to bring him in on a loan deal with a view to buy at the end of the season.

The Hornets could be set to allow some of their attacking players to leave following confirmation of the Gerard Deulofeu deal too with Stefan Okaka and Isaac Success both linked with loan deals away from Vicarage Road.

Moura edges closer to Tottenham switch

Tottenham Hotspur have gone one step closer to securing the signing of PSG winger Lucas Moura after the Brazilian international passed his medical this morning.

The Lilywhites are said to be ready to part with £25m to bring in the pacey winger who has struggled for game time at Parc des Princes this season behind the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the pecking order.
10:09 31 Jan

Elaquim Mangala close to securing Everton loan

After securing the signature of Aymeric Laporte, Manchester City appear to be happy to allow Elaquim Mangala to leave the club on a loan deal and Everton are currently in pole position to secure his signature.

The French defender will be looking for first team football and the Toffees have been looking to pick up a left-footed centre back for quite some time and the Citizens man appears to fit the bill.
10:06 31 Jan

Palmieri deal confirmed for Blues

Chelsea have finally secured the signature of Brazilian-born left-back Emerson Palmieri on a deal worth around £21m from Italian giants Roma.

The full-back is eligible to play in the Champions League having not featured for La Maggica in the group stages and after the Blues have chased him throughout this window they have finally secured their man today.
09:49 31 Jan

Schurrle move to Swansea off

Andre Schurrle's move to Swansea City has been put on hold as Borussia Dortmund are looking to keep the German star following a training injury to Andriy Yarmolenko leaving them light in the attacking areas of the pitch.

The Swans are said to have switched their attentions to Liverpool's Lazar Markovic, who hasn't made a competitive start for the Reds since his loan switch to Hull in the last campaign.
09:41 31 Jan

Saivet arrives in Turkey ahead of Sivasspor switch

Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saivet has arrived in Turkey for a medical ahead of a loan switch to Super Lig side Sivasspor.

The Senegalese international has played just five times for the Magpies since joining the club from Bordeaux in 2016.
09:30 31 Jan

Aubameyang having Arsenal medical

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is having his medical at Arsenal this morning ahead of a move believed to be worth around £60m.

This deal has been mooted throughout the January transfer window with the Gabon international's relationship with his current club Borussia Dortmund looking strained to say the least.

Aubameyang will turn 29 in the summer but has a phenomenal scoring record in Germany having racked up 98 goals in 144 appearances for BVB since joining in 2013.

However, it is thought that the Bundesliga outfit won't sign off on the deal until they have secured a replacement forward with Michy Batshuayi being linked with a move to the Westfalenstadion.
21:18 30 Jan

Mahrez hands in transfer request

Riyad Mahrez has officially handed in a written transfer request at Leicester City after Manchester City had three bids rejected for the winger.

The Algerian international has been a key player at the King Power Stadium in recent years, even winning the gong of PFA Player of the Year in the club's incredible Premier League winning campaign two years ago.

Ever since that campaign he has been linked with moves away but he is now taking the issue into his own hands to attempt to force through a move to the Citizens after their latest bid of £55m was turned down.
21:07 30 Jan

Citizens secure record transfer deal for Laporte

One of January's biggest transfer sagas came to an end on Tuesday afternoon as Manchester City confirmed the signing of Aymeric Laporte for a club record fee believed to be in the region of £57m.

The 24 year old defender had been coveted by Pep Guardiola for quite some time but with the Basque side unwilling to part with one of their key men it has taken a huge fee for the Citizens to secure the signature of Laporte.

A French youth international, Laporte is yet to make his full debut for les Bleus' first team, he did rack up 161 La Liga appearances for los Leones over a six year spell with the first team at San Mames.
10:27 30 Jan

Stoke set to capture Badou Ndiaye

Stoke City are closing in on the signing of Galatasaray's Badou Ndiaye according to sources with a £15m fee agreed and the Potters now discussing personal terms with the midfielder.

The 27 year old will have to first apply for a visa and then a work permit before the deal is agreed, so this is a transfer that could go down to the wire on deadline day, although Paul Lambert will be hoping to confirm the transfer before tomorrow night's fixture against Watford.

A Senegal international, Ndiaye has appeared 17 times for Galatasaray this season having joined the Istanbul club from Osmalispor in pre-season.
10:09 30 Jan

Sturridge secures West Brom switch

Daniel Sturridge has signed for West Bromwich Albion on loan from Liverpool until the end of the season.

The England international has slipped down the pecking order at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp and suffered with injuries of late, meaning he has decided to leave the club in order to gain some first team action ahead of this summer's World Cup.

Newcastle United, Sevilla and Inter Milan had all been linked with moves for the injury-prone forward in this window but it was confirmed on Monday night that Sturridge would be returning to his native midlands to join the Baggies.

Sturridge has amassed an impressive 74 Premier League goals in 114 starts but has started a measly five matches for the Reds in the current campaign.
16:03 29 Jan

Galaxy lining up move for Zlatan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be set to move to LA Galaxy when his contract at Manchester United expires at the end of this season.

The Swedish superstar was allowed to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer in the summer only to return a few months later on another year-long deal, but injuries have set him back and his game-time has been limited so far in this campaign.

At 36, Ibrahimovic is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Red Devils so he could be tempted by a big money move to the MLS club that has in the past signed the likes of David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole.
13:31 29 Jan

Deulofeu could be set for Premier League return

Former Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu could be set for a return to the Premier League in the coming days after emerging as a target for Watford and others Premier League outfits.

The 23 year old has already spent three seasons at Goodison Park over two different spells but returned to Barcelona this summer, the club that he had graduated from as an academy product, after a mixed bag of a loan spell in Italy with AC Milan.

Having made just 10 La Liga appearances in the last six months though, Deulofeu could be on the move again with Watford reportedly interested in bolstering their attacking options and perhaps unsurprisingly, the Toffees also expressing an interest once again.
13:09 29 Jan

Ulloa returns to Amex Stadium

Argentinian striker Leonardo Ulloa has rejoined former club Brighton & Hove Albion on a loan deal from Leicester City until the end of the season.

Ulloa scored 23 times in 50 appearances for the Seagulls whilst they were in the Championship before securing a move to the King Power Stadium, where he has scored 18 times in 86 games but found himself down the pecking order in recent times.

"He's achieved a great deal since he left and his experience at this level will be hugely beneficial to us," said Brighton boss Chris Hughton.
13:02 29 Jan

Batshuayi to replace Aubameyang at Dortmund?

Reports are suggesting that Borussia Dortmund are all set to complete a loan deal for Chelsea's out-of-favour Michy Batshuayi in a deal that would see the German club allow Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang join Arsenal.

The Gabon international has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium throughout the transfer window in one of the biggest recent stories on the transfer rumour mill and it is thought that terms between the clubs have been agreed but BVB are not willing to allow the player to leave until a replacement forward has been signed.

Batshuayi has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge himself throughout the window but managed a rare start for the Blues in their FA Cup win over Newcastle United this weekend, bagging a brace in a 3-0 victory.
13:43 26 Jan

West Ham linked with more signings

After securing the loan of Inter Milan's Joao Mario for the remainder of the season, West Ham have been linked with more new signings as the January transfer window draws to a close over the next week.

Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge has fallen down the pecking order at Liverpool and as boss Jurgen Klopp seeks a Philippe Coutinho replacement in the attacking areas, he could be allowed to leave Anfield in the next week. The Hammers are thought to be competing with Inter and Sevilla for his signature.

Another player who has been linked with a possible move to the capital is Jonjo Shelvey of Newcastle. The central midfielder has been a regular starter for the Magpies this season but could be tempted to move down south, although the North East club are said to be desperate to keep hold of him.
13:09 26 Jan

Joao Mario confirms West Ham loan deal

With injuries to Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini leaving David Moyes short of attacking midfield options, the Scottish boss has made a move to bring Portuguese international Joao Mario to West Ham United on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

The 25 year old signed for Inter Milan in Serie A for a fee of around £35m 18 months ago from Portuguese Primeira Liga side Sporting Lisbon, but has been deemed surplus to requirements at the San Siro this season and has struggled for minutes in a star-studded Nerazzurri squad.

"His ability as a footballer is not in question, he's proved it, and I just hope he can hit the ground running. That's my only concern" said Moyes at the unveiling of his new signing.
19:33 25 Jan

Pellegrino hopes to be on a Promes

As well as Guido Carrillo (see the update below), Southampton are also tracking another striker in the shape of Spartak Moscow's Quincy Promes.

The Netherlands international has been playing in the Russian capital since the summer of 2014, averaging more than a goal every two league games, while he has also earned 25 caps for his country.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino confirmed: "He is an important player. There are a lot of players I would like to bring in but he is one of the players we are looking for.

"We have followed him many times and it is one possibility. We will be pushing until the end but we know the market is not easy."

Saints closing in on Carrillo

Southampton are closing in on the £19million transfer of Argentine striker Guido Carrillo from Monaco, their manager Mauricio Pellegrino has confirmed.

Pellegrino worked with Carrillo during his time in charge of Estudiantes, since when Carrillo has also moved to Europe and scored 20 goals for the French champions in 85 appearances, well over half of which have come as a substitute.

Saints need fresh blood in attack as they are down in the Premier League relegation zone and Charlie Austin, who became their first-choice striker towards the end of 2017, is injured while Shane Long and Manolo Gabbiadini are struggling to score goals.

Pellegrino said of the Carrillo deal: "We are working really hard to try and move forward. Hopefully we can have some good news tomorrow, but still nothing has happened.

"We are confident. I think the player wants to come, to be part of our squad, but the most important part of the negotiations are still there so we have to continue to work."

Joao Mario to have West Ham medical

Portugal midfielder Joao Mario is to have a medical with West Ham United on Thursday afternoon before completing a loan move from Inter Milan with a view to a permanent £26million move in the summer.

The 25-year-old former Sporting Lisbon player was part of the Portugal squad that won Euro 2016 and moved to Italy later that summer.

West Ham manager David Moyes will hope the move goes through in time for Mario to make his debut in Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie away to Wigan.

Chelsea target Dzeko scores for Roma

Edin Dzeko, whom Chelsea want to sign as part of a double deal with Emerson Palmieri from Roma, scored a last-minute equaliser for the Italian capital club in a 1-1 Serie A draw away to Sampdoria on Wednesday night.

The Bosnia international striker played the full 90 minutes of what could be his last Roma appearance, with reports suggesting a £44million double switch will be made by the former Manchester City player and his Brazilian left wing-back team-mate Palmieri to Stamford Bridge.

Roma's sporting director Monchi has denied that terms have been finalised while Chelsea manager Antonio Conte also straight-batted the links when quizzed after his team's Carabao Cup semi-final loss to Arsenal.

But Dzeko has emerged as the striker Chelsea clearly want after being linked with players such as Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch and Islam Slimani and the move looks likely to happen.

Man City closing in on two new signings

After missing out on Alexis Sanchez following his move to Manchester United from Arsenal, Manchester City have turned their attentions elsewhere and are looking to bring in two new players in this window.

24 year old attacking midfielder Fred from Ukranian club Shakhtar Donetsk is one of the players being linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium during this window, although the Citizens have been told they may have to wait until the summer to finalise a £50m deal for the Brazilian.

Having been linked with Jonny Evans in this window also, the Citizens now look to be focusing their attention on a centre-back from the continent with Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte being linked with a huge money move to the Premier League.
09:22 24 Jan

Aubameyang chase continues for Arsenal

Arsenal continue their chase for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and have reportedly upped their bid to over £50m as they look to tie up a deal before the end of the January transfer window.

The 28 year old forward was left out of the BVB squad as the side travelled to the capital to draw 1-1 with Hertha Berlin last Friday and was pictured playing 5-a-side with friends whilst wearing a shirt bearing the name of Ousmane Dembele, who left the club for Barcelona in the summer.

Die Borussen are said to only be considering bids of £53m upwards for the Gabonese international but Arsenal are thought to have upped their bid to £50.9m after their £48m bid was rejected earlier this week.

With Alexis Sanchez having left and Arsene Wenger having spoken about moving Henrikh Mkhitaryan into a central midfield position, it appears as though the French boss has targeted Aubameyang as a forward replacement for the departing Chilean.

18:46 22 Jan

Sanchez and Mkhitaryan swap finally confirmed

The worst kept secret in football over the last few weeks has been Manchester United's straight swap deal to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading the other way.

29 year old Sanchez has been angling for a move away from Arsenal for quite some time and with a new contract never likely to be signed, the Gunners decided to move him on in January before he left on a Bosman deal in the summer.

In Mkhitaryan the Gunners have managed to sign a former Borussia Dortmund midfielder who, whilst never really catching at Manchester United, has been among the most highly-rated attacking midfielders in Europe in his career.
12:03 22 Jan

Crystal Palace agree deal for Polish defender

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal in principle to sign Polish international defender Jaroslaw Jach from Ekstraklasa outfit Zaglebie Lubin.

The 23 year old is now in London and is expected to complete a medical in the coming days ahead of completing a deal to join Roy Hodgson's depleted, injury-ridden squad.

With the likes of Scott Dann, Jeffrey Schlupp, Jason Puncheon and Ruben Loftus-Cheek set for extended spells on the sidelines, the ex-England boss has expressed a desire to add to his squad in this window.

Centre back Jach has played 68 times for his current club in Poland, scoring four times whilst also making his first two appearances for the national side last year.
10:06 22 Jan

Sanchez pictured in United kit

Alexis Sanchez has been pictured in a Manchester United kit for the first time ahead of his potential unveiling as the club's new signing as part of a swap deal that will see Henrikh Mkhitaryan head the opposite way.

This deal appears to have rumbled on for quite some time but with even Arsene Wenger admitting it was likely that the Chilean forward would join the Red Devils over the weekend it seems to now be a matter of time before completion.

And this tweet from Samuel Luckhurst, a Manchester Evening News journalist, seems to confirm that the announcement is imminent at Old Trafford.

15:09 21 Jan

Mata linked with move back to Valencia

Manchester United's Juan Mata is out of contract at the end of the season sparking speculation about his future, with former club Valencia reportedly monitoring the situation.

Mata, 29, may find himself down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez and as such may feel that he has to move on to find more regular football at this key stage of his career.

The attacking midfielder made 174 appearances for Los Che in a four year spell earlier in his career, racking up 46 goals in that time.

With his contract up in the summer the Spanish international will be allowed to move for a free transfer if he doesn't sign a new deal with the Premier League side.
12:43 21 Jan

Slimani latest Chelsea link

Islam Slimani is the latest in a long list of strikers being linked with a move to Chelsea during the January transfer window.

With Antonio Conte clearly looking to add another attacking option to his squad, Andy Carroll, Edin Dzeko and Peter Crouch are among the names that have been mentioned with regards to a possible move to Stamford Bridge this month.

Leicester forward Slimani, 29, finds himself behind Jamie Vardy in the pecking order at the King Power and as such, the Blues may believe they can take him on a loan deal for the rest of the season.
18:37 19 Jan

United leading four way chase for Seri

OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri is being chased by a host of Premier League clubs but it appears that Manchester United are currently in pole position to secure his signature.

The 26 year old has been a key component of an impressive Nice outfit over the last two 18 months and he's also become a regular for the Ivory Coast, racking up 16 appearances for his country.

Reports are suggesting that Jose Mourinho will announce his signing in the coming days, but the Red Devils face stiff competition from the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City for his signature.

Everton weighing up offer for Juan Bernat

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has today announced that he will be looking to offload some players from his large squad during the January transfer window, but his side continue to be linked with left-back options.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the injury problems being experienced by first-choice defender Leighton Baines, the Toffees have been linked with a move for Manchester United's Luke Shaw or Bayern Munich's Juan Bernat.

The Spaniard in particular has been linked heavily with a potential loan switch to Goodison Park for the remainder of the campaign as he struggles to get game time at the Allianz Arena this season.

Liverpool miss out on Goretzka

Liverpool have missed out on one of their major transfer targets after it was announced today that Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka will be signing for Bayern Munich on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The 22 year old has allowed his contract to run down at the Gelsenkirchen club where he has racked up over 100 Bundesliga appearances, whilst also scoring six times in his first six caps for Germany.

He was considered to be a major target for Jurgen Klopp has he scours the market for a potential replacement for Emre Can, who could be joining Juventus upon the expiry of his own contract at the end of this campaign.

However Goretzka's move to the Allianz Arena has today been confirmed, meaning Klopp may have to look elsewhere or tempt Can into signing a new deal and rejecting a move to Serie A.

Tottenham enter race for Lucas Moura

Manchester United may face competition for the signature of Brazilian star Lucas Moura as Premier League rivals have also reportedly joined the race for the midfielder.

As Les Parisiens continue to add more attacking quality to their squad, the Brazilian has found first team opportunities more difficult to come by and he may be tempted by a move to link up with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford or Mauricio Pochettino in North London.

In terms of a transfer fee, it remains to be seen how much the Ligue 1 side would require to let go of the 25 year old, but this rumour is certainly gathering pace and has been one of the most discussed rumours on social media over the last few days.

London rivals competing for Bologna defender

Bologna defender Adam Masina his being courted by two Premier League sides with both West Ham United and Crystal Palace keeping tabs on the 24 year old.

With both sides needing more options in the defensive areas of the pitch, the left-footed full-back could be an ideal signing for either side.

Having now made over 100 appearances for the Serie A outfit he has experience as well as age on his side and we could see him heading to London one way or the other this January.

Chelsea target man search moves to Dzeko

The Friday rumour mill is in full swing and as Chelsea's search for a new striker continues they appear to have averted their attention towards Roma's Edin Dzeko.

An ex-Manchester City man, 31 year old Dzeko has been AS Roma's star striker in recent years, scoring 38 goals in 56 league appearances since permanently moving to the Stadio Olimpico in 2016.

He also bagged a brace at Stamford Bridge during the Champions League group stages earlier this season in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

The Blues have also expressed an interest in La Maggica's out-of-favour full-back Emerson Palmieri and could be prepared to stump up over £70m to bring the duo to London this January.

Sturridge linked with Sevilla loan deal

Liverpool and England forward Daniel Sturridge could be set to spend some time away from the Merseyside club has he has been heavily linked with a loan deal to Spanish club Sevilla.

The 28 year old has been linked with a permanent move to Inter Milan despite a £30m price tag being slapped on him by the Reds and now a loan deal where he can regain some fitness seems more likely.

A former Chelsea and Manchester City man, Sturridge has racked up 48 goals in 98 appearances for the Anfield outfit, but injuries have limited his appearances since he moved to the club in 2013.

Walcott seals Everton move

Theo Walcott has today been confirmed as an Everton player after sealing a switch from Arsenal for a fee believed to be around £20m.

Unsettled Reds keeper targeted by Napoli

With Loris Karius being preferred to Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool goal of late, it's perhaps no surprise that the Belgian stopper is being linked with a move away from the club.

As the Reds reportedly seek to bring in a new keeper with the funds brought in from the sale of Philippe Coutinho, at least one of Karius or Mignolet is expected to be through the exit door to make room in the squad.

Given that Pepe Reina has been linked with a re-union with his former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez at Newcastle United, Napoli may be looking to bring in a new keeper themselves this month.

The Belgian international is currently being looked at for a potential transfer by the Serie A outfit.
12:33 17 Jan

Chelsea switch attention to Emerson

Having been frustrated so far in their pursuit of Juventus' Alex Sandro Chelsea have switched their attention to another Serie A left-back in the shape of Roma's Emerson Palmieri.

The 23 year old was a regular started for la Maggica last season with 25 appearances but this year he has struggled for game time after finding himself behind summer signing Aleksandr Kolarov in the pecking order at the Stadio Olimpico this season.

It's likely that the Brazilian-born defender will come at a much smaller cost than his compatriot Sandro who the Old Lady are now holding out for a £50m transfer fee for.

Tottenham interested in Norwich starlet

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to continue their tradition of plucking talent from the lower leagues as they eye up a January move for Norwich City's James Maddison.

The 21 year old, who moved to Carrow Road in 2016 after coming through the ranks at his hometown club Coventry City, has been a star performer for the Canaries this season and even picked up the goal of the month award in the Championship back in October.

Mauricio Pochettino is interested in securing the midfielder's signature in January before loaning him back to the second tier club for the remainder of the season although he faces stiff competition from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

After signing for the Premier League side from Olympique de Marseille for £30m two years ago the 24 year old has struggled for form and has managed just two starts and two goals so far in this Premier League campaign.

Walcott edging closer to Everton switch

Sam Allardyce appears to be edging closer to another signing at Everton as the rumour of a potential deal to sign Arsenal winger Theo Walcott gathers pace.

Walcott, who turns 29 in March, has found his chances in the first team becoming increasingly limited over the last few seasons and he now be looking to move on to boost his chances of featuring in England's World Cup squad this summer.

As the Toffees struggle for attacking impetus at the moment, Allardyce may be tempted to pair Walcott with another new big money signing in the shape of Turkish forward Cenk Tosun, who joined from Besiktas last week.

Southampton are also rumoured to be interested in a deal for Walcott, who started his career at St Mary's Stadium before securing a switch to the Emirates Stadium in 2006.

Arsenal Aubameyang link gathering pace

With Alexis Sanchez edging closer to the exit door at the Emirates Stadium, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been named as a potential replacement for the Chilean striker at the North London club.

Aubameyang, 28, has been left out of Dortmund's squad in recent matches for disciplinary reasons and has his relationship with the Bundesliga outfit strains, rumours of a potential move to Arsenal have been fuelled by many news outlets this week.

With Sanchez set to leave, the Gunners could be set to splash out £53m to sign the Gabon international, although some reports in Germany are suggesting that BVB would also want to include Olivier Giroud as part of the deal.
11:42 16 Jan

City pull out of Alexis deal

Manchester United are now in pole position to confirm the signing of Alexis Sanchez in the coming days after it was reported on Monday that Manchester City have pulled out of the running for the Arsenal forward.

The Citizens had been strongly linked with the Chile international since coming close to completing a deal in the summer but with the asking price being driven up by Manchester United's interest, they've now pulled out of the running.

Any deal bringing Alexis to Old Trafford is thought to be hinging on Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading the opposite way and it could be that all that's left for this deal to be confirmed is the Armenian agreeing a deal at the Emirates Stadium.
12:44 15 Jan

Swans considering club record bid for Kevin Gameiro

Swansea City are looking to splash the cash on some new signings this summer as they fight against the drop in the Premier League and Portuguese boss Carlos Carvalhal has targeted Atletico Madrid's Kevin Gameiro to help bolster his attacking options.

The 30 year old striker is struggling for opportunities at the Wanda Metropolitana this season and is likely to see his minutes diminish even more following the signing of Diego Costa, although it's believed that a fee of at least £25m will be required to prise him away from the Spanish club.

That would be a record transfer fee for the Swans but given that they are struggling against relegation from the Premier League, it may be a small price to pay. It's believe that Turkish club Fenerbahce are also interested in the French international.
09:47 15 Jan

Mkhitaryan could be used as Sanchez makeweight

Manchester United are willing to allow Armenian winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan join Arsenal as part of a deal to bring Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford this January.

The Chilean forward is expected to leave the Emirates Stadium during this winter transfer window and Manchester City were seemingly in pole position for secure his signature but as that deal falters, their cross-town rivals United are looking to hijack the deal.

With higher wages seemingly on offer with the Red Devils, Jose Mourinho is now seemingly in a stronger position than his rival Pep Guardiola in terms of this deal as he's willing to let ex-Borussia Dortmund man Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to London as part of the deal.

The United number 22, who turns 29 this month, has managed just 39 appearances since joining the Premier League club from BVB in 2016 and does not appear to be favoured by the Portuguese boss as things stand.
09:43 15 Jan

Richarlison targeted by London giants

Watford's Brazilian starlet Richarlison is being courted by two of London's Premier League giants as both Chelsea and Arsenal look to battle it out for his signature this January.

With Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil looking set for the exit door at the Emirates Stadium, Arsene Wenger may look to put his faith in youth as a replacement in attack and the 20 year old has certainly raised eyebrows with his performances at Vicarage Road this season.

The former Fluminense man only arrived on these shores in the summer but in what has been a rollercoaster season so far for the Hornets he has been one of their stand-out performers thus far.

Chelsea are also considered to be weighing up their attacking options and given the success that Brazilian stars such as Oscar, Willian and David Luiz have enjoyed at Stamford Bridge in the past he may be tempted by a move to the reigning Premier League champions.
15:22 14 Jan

RB Leipzig confirm Keita to remain until summer

The 22 year old will finalise his move to the Premier League in the summer.

Liverpool set to join race for Sanchez

Liverpool are set to join both Manchester clubs in the race for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez as it looks increasingly likely that the Chilean star will leave the Emirates Stadium in January.

With his contract set to expire in the summer, the Gunners are looking to offload the attacker so they can bring in at least some funds for his sale, although the price is now likely to be driven up by a bidding war between three clubs.

Manchester City's long-running interest in the 30 year old has been well-documented since their attempts to sign him during the summer transfer window but their cross-town rivals Manchester United have stepped up their interest in recent weeks and are reportedly willing to offer him higher wages.

However it seems Sanchez may not have another option as several media outlets are reporting that Liverpool, looking for a replacement to Barcelona-bound Philippe Coutinho, are now taking an interest too.

Gremio playmaker being scouted by Premier League giants

Gremio wonderkid Arthur Melo is being scouted by two Premier League giants as both Manchester United and Chelsea have expressed an interest in the 21 year old's services.

Liverpool to reinvest Coutinho money in Butland

Liverpool are reportedly looking to bring in a new goalkeeper with the money they earned through the sale of Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho, with Stoke City's Jack Butland heading Jurgen Klopp's shopping list.

Neither Loris Karius or Simon Mignolet has been able to nail down the starting position between the sticks at Anfield this season and rumours have circulated around a new goalkeeper for some time on Merseyside.

Butland, 24, has endured some injury problems in his career but now appears to be back to his best for the Potters and with the World Cup coming up he may be tempted to look to nail down a starting spot with a top six club so that he can put himself in contention for a starting spot in Russia for the Three Lions.

Hernandez could be set for Old Trafford return

Mexican striker Javier Hernandez has been linked with a sensational return to Manchester United as Jose Mourinho looks to add to his attacking options at Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

Sensational stories from the North West have reported in the last couple of days that the Red Devils could be attempting to hijack the deal taking Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal to Manchester City but if Mourinho cannot pull that deal off, then he is looking at other attacking options.

Hernandez spent five years as a United player, scoring 37 times in 103 league appearances for the club, but he hasn't been at his best form since joining West Ham United in the summer, scoring just four goals in 17 appearances so far.

New Major League Soccer outfit Los Angeles FC are also reportedly taking an interest in the 30 year old forward, while United have also earmarked Leicester City's Jamie Vardy as a potential signing during this transfer window.

Coquelin to complete Valencia move

Valencia have announced that they are concluding a deal to sign midfielder Francis Coquelin from Arsenal, believed to be for a transfer fee of £12million.

The 26-year-old Frenchman made his debut for the Gunners in a League Cup tie in September 2008 but did not make his Premier League breakthrough until three years later, going on to make 105 appearances in the top flight. He did not score a senior goal for Arsenal.

United-Sanchez link strengthens

Guillem Balague, Sky's Spanish expert, has backed up the Alexis Sanchez-Manchester United link and believes the Red Devils may have a chance of pulling off a coup if City do not increase their offer.

Sanchez's desire to work again with his former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola is thought to be driving his desire to join City, but the Premier League leaders do not want to pay a big transfer fee for a player who is out of contract in the summer and would be available for free.

United's need is greater at this stage, trailing their neighbours by 15 points in the Premier League title race, and with Zlatan Ibrahimovic injured again they are short of cover for striker Romelu Lukaku.

The 3/1 about Sanchez joining United this month has disappeared and the best odds are now 9/4 with Betfair Sportsbook, while City are in to 1/2 at BetVictor.

United set to hijack Sanchez's move to City?

Now here's a rumour which, if it came to fruition, would probably be THE big story of the January transfer window.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has tweeted, citing Sky in Italy as the source, that Manchester United want to hijack their big local rivals City's planned move for Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal.

Not only that, but he says the Red Devils are prepared to throw Henrikh Mkhitaryan into the deal to sweeten up the Gunners!

We all know, of course, that Sanchez has looked destined to join City ever since the summer when the Premier League leaders simply ran out of time on deadline day to push a transfer through.

But the Chilean forward, whose influence at Arsenal has waned this season seemingly due to him being unsettled, had looked certain to move north this month.

Could that now be to Old Trafford instead of the Etihad Stadium? Are United offering a straight swap of Mkhitaryan for Sanchez or merely cash plus a loan deal?

The bookmakers are giving the rumour some credence, with BetVictor having cut the odds for Sanchez to join United to a best price of 3/1 and eased City out to 4/5 to complete a deal.

Barcelona confirm Yerry Mina deal

Barcelona have confirmed they are supplementing the signing of Philippe Coutinho this January with the addition of Colombian defender Yerry Mina from Brazilian club Palmeiras for a fee of 11.8million euros (£10.44million).

Mina has been linked with La Liga leaders for some time and now Barcelona have announced on their official website that the 23-year-old centre-half will sign a contract until the summer of 2023 and have a buyout clause of 100million euros (£88.5million).

Described as a "quick, ball-playing defender who uses his aerial prowess to impose himself and score goals", Mina has netted an impressive nine goals in 49 appearances for Palmeiras and three in nine for his national team.

In terms of a transfer fee, it remains to be seen how much the Ligue 1 side would require to let go of the 25 year old, but this rumour is certainly gathering pace and has been one of the most discussed on social media over the last few days.

Capable of playing in wide areas or as a central striker, Walcott may be tempted by a return to the club that kickstarted his career or perhaps a new challenge in the North West may entice him away from AFC.

Manchester City are looking to re-open talks to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal this January following the deadline day saga that say him remain at the Emirates Stadium back in the summer.

The Chilean forward is out of contract in the summer and will be able to leave the club on a free transfer, which has looked increasingly more likely throughout the campaign as he appears to be growing disillusioned with the state of play at the North London club.

Instead of waiting until the summer and taking a huge signing-on fee, the 29 year old could be set to allow Manchester City to pay the Gunners the money required for his signature now, believed to be around £25m.

Griezmann demands £400k a week to choose Man Utd over Barcelona

Long-term Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann will demand an incredible £400k a week to snub Barcelona in favour of the Premier League club according to reports emerging on Monday morning.

Some supporters believed the Red Devil's interest in Griezmann had been dropped following the signing of Romelu Lukaku in the summer but it appears Jose Mourinho is still interested in bringing the Atletico Madrid man to Old Trafford.

Los Colchoneros have recently bolstered their frontline by re-signing Diego Costa from Chelsea and as such, they may be more willing to allow their star striker Griezmann to leave the club for a huge fee.

However, it is believed that the 26 year old's preferred move is to Barcelona and in order to snub the Catalan club in favour of United, the English club will have to offer wages of £400k a week to tempt him.

A £142m deal is thought to have been agreed between the two clubs, making Coutinho the second most expensive player in football history following the Catalan clubs record-breaking sale of fellow Brazilian Neymar to PSG in the summer.

After three failed bids for Coutinho in the summer, who cost the Merseyside club just £8.5m when he signed from Inter Milan back in 2013, Barcelona appear to have finally got their man.

In a statement on Liverpool FC's official website, boss Jurgen Klopp had the following to say:

"I can tell the Liverpool supporters that we, as a club, have done everything within our means to convince Philippe that remaining part of LFC was as attractive as moving to Spain, but he is 100 per cent certain his future - and that of his family - belongs at Barcelona. It is his dream and I am now convinced there is nothing left at our disposal to change his mind."

The Portuguese international was due to join the Foxes on deadline day back in August, but with the documents relating to his transfer not arriving with FIFA until 14 seconds after the deadline, he was ineligible to play until this January.

After 10 years at Sporting Lisbon, the deal to bring Silva to the Premier League is believed to have been worth around £22m.

Kane on the move?

In what would surely be the most sensational deal of the January Transfer Window, the Daily Star are reporting that Real Madrid are lining up a £150m plus Gareth Bale bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Barcelona back in for Coutinho

Reports today are suggesting that Barcelona are ready to offer big money for Philippe Coutinho this week.

Having missed out on the Brazilian during the summer, the Spanish giants will bid £130m for Liverpool's star man and are confident it will be enough to secure a January signing.

This would be hugely frustrating for Liverpool, but perhaps the emergence of Mo Salah as a regular goalscorer will soften the blow.

Coutinho is now 1/10 to sign for Barcelona in January

Man Utd up interest in Paulo Dybala

Manchester United are keen to bring in Paulo Dybala to the club in January as they look to close the gap on Manchester City.

Reports today even suggest they are willing to pay £70m for the Argentina international and even throw in out-of-form Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of the deal.

We're not sure the Italian Champions will go for this, but let's be honest - it's not the last time Man Utd are going to bid for Dybala. Watch out for this one!

Mahrez in, Sanchez out?

If reports in France are to be believed today, Riyad Mahrez is being lined up as a like-for-like replacement at Arsenal when Alexis Sanchez leaves the club.

Sanchez is likely to move to league leaders Manchester City and Mahrez - who has been excellent for Leicester in the last two or three years - is considered a decent short-term fix for Arsene Wenger.

Daniel Sturridge on the move?

Southampton are hoping to bring in Daniel Sturridge on loan to boost their goal threat as they battle against relegation.

After Van Djik moved in the other direction for £75m, they are hopeful Jurgen Klopp will do a deal with them to give Sturridge - who wants to play at the World Cup - a chance at regular football.

Sturridge is 8/1 with Betway to move to Southampton
