Qatar vs. Azerbaijan Betting Tips
Qatar will host Azerbaijan for their last test ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Iran later this month, hoping to bag a win and get the team spirits high. While the visitors will be no pushovers on the day, having been in a rather good form recently, we’ll still stick our necks out backing a home win at 11/10 with bet365
Azerbaijan travel to Qatar having earned wins over San Marino and Norway last year, as well as holding the Czech Republic to a goalless draw on the road before losing at Northern Ireland (4-0) in November. This has been one of their best starts in history and we’ll surely see a confident squad, although they don’t have much to hope for hosting Germany later in March.
We’ve seen some great defensive performances from them, though, and they will be a tough nut to crack on the day. However, they have been far from the best of attacking sides (scoring just two goals in four World Cup qualifiers in 2016) and with Qatar also showing great defensive displays, this shapes to be a low-scoring contest difficult to call.
We do feel the Maroons will have what it takes to bag a win, especially if they manage to keep a clean sheet on the day. They have indeed done just that in two of their last four outings, and netting four in the process was enough to earn two wins and two draws in the process. We now expect another similar game from the Maroons and we’ll go for Under 2.5 goals FT at 3/5 with William Hill
Qatar vs. Azerbaijan Stats
Interestingly, the sides have met just once before and we’ve seen a 1-1 draw in a friendly on this ground back in 2013, as Azerbaijan pulled a deserved late equalizer. While much has changed with both sides since then, we expect a very similar game on the day.
However, we also expect Qatar can now secure a win and we’ll go for a 1-0 correct score prediction this time around, backing the longshot at 5/1 with BetVictor
