Nigeria vs. Senegal Betting Tips
Senegal and Nigeria will meet for a friendly at the Hive Stadium in London on Thursday, both playing their first of two respective pre-qualifying friendlies and looking to best prepare for the June’s AFCON qualifiers. We do feel Nigeria come into the match more confident and consistent, and we’ll now back them to earn a win at 11/10 with William Hill.
Super Eagles have connected five straight wins since May 2016, beating Mali (1-0), Luxembourg (1-3), Tanzania (1-0), Zambia (1-2), and Algeria (3-1). This will be their first outing in 2017, though, and could lose on their consistency but Gernot Rohr’s side will be fully fit on the day. Expecting them on the top of their game, we do feel they’ll have what it takes to outclass the rivals shaken but Africa Cup of Nations failure.
Senegal have been one of the prime favourites to win the tournament but dropped out in quarter-finals already (on penalties to Cameroon after a goalless draw). This, together with a draw against Algeria beforehand, has been visibly devastating for the side morale and we just don’t feel they can bounce back just yet. While we do expect a very tight matchup, the Lions of Teranga will have a lot of ground to make up in an attempt to return to the winning ways after a two-match winless streak.
Both sides have been in fine goalscoring spells of form recently, and we expect an exciting clash in London. Both have netted two or more goals in three of their last four outings, and we now expect similar display despite no high stakes involved. A Yes on Both teams to score now looks a very solid bet to get behind, and we’ll go for it at 11/10 with Ladbrokes
Nigeria vs. Senegal Stats
Interestingly, the sides haven’t met for over a decade with their last head-to-head encounter back in 2006. Although it’s thus not very meaningful putting their matches into perspective, Nigeria have beaten Senegal in three of their four clashes and we do feel they build on this record.
We’ll thus go for a 2-1 win for Nigeria, backing an exciting matchup and the longshot correct score prediction at a very good-looking 8/1 with bet365
