Looking for Confederations Cup predictions and tips? Here's our top betting tips for the final group stage games which take place this weekend.

For anyone unfamiliar with the Confederations Cup, it is essentially a smaller-scale rehearsal for next summer’s World Cup in that it gives the Russians some valuable practice at staging a tournament.

Along with the hosts, the competing nations are the holders of the six continental championships – namely Portugal, Chile, Australia (Asia), New Zealand, Mexico and Cameroon – plus 2014 World Cup winners Germany, who are the outright favourites.

Here’s our top three bets on the 2017 Confederations Cup for this weekend:

1) Cristiano Ronaldo to score first in Portugal v New Zealand

Cristiano Ronaldo was rightly backed by us to score in both of Portugal's opening matches. The Real Madrid star scored the only goal in the win over Russia last time out and although there's little value in backing him to score at any time this time around, odds of 17/10 with Ladbrokes for the Seleccao's talisman to open the scoring seem like decent value on the face of things.

The 32 year old has scored no fewer than 74 goals in his 141 Portugal caps and coming off the back of another mind-boggling season in terms of goals for his club, the Seleccao captain will come into this game full of confidence following two more strong displays in his side's opening two matches of the tournament.

2) Mexico to beat Russia and both teams to score @ 19/5 with BetVictor

Mexico may feel they are in with a chance of success at this summer's Confederations Cup. The Central Americans are often involved in this tournament due to their historical success in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and they came into the tournament in magnificent form having lost just one of their thirteen games prior to travelling to Russia.

We correctly backed Mexico to win and both teams to score in their most recent match against New Zealand. El Tricolor have so much attacking firepower but lack organisation in defence from the time to time and as such, we can see the Russian forward line causing them problems here. We're on the same bet of Mexico to win and both teams to score at 19/5 with BetVictor.

3) Chile to beat Australia with a one goal handicap @ 20/21 with bet365

After a comfortable 2-0 win over Cameroon in their opening match, Chile then held the world champions Germany to a draw on Thursday night after Alexis Sanchez got an early goal for the South Americans. They're expected to ease to another three points and into the semi-finals here.

La Roja are the stronger of these two sides and they possess plenty of quality attacking players. Australia's defence is relatively inexperienced and as such, we expect them to struggle to cope with the quality of players like Alexis Sanchez and Eduardo Vargas in Chile's frontline. We're backing the South American side to win with a one goal handicap at 20/21 with bet365.
