What is a football accumulator?
A football accumulator combines several picks on the outcome of multiple matches to create a longer odds multiple bet. For your bet to win, you must correctly predict and select the outcome of all the matches. There are bets such as Lucky 15s and each way bets where some selections may not have to be completely correct but these are generally considered to be different to accumulator bets.
For example, you can back a first goalscorer in an accumulator bet with some bookmakers, but backing a first goalscorer selection each way means the bet can still come in if the player scores the second of third game of the match, although the odds will be reduced.

The most popular style of accumulator is picking a winner for several matches. These bets have always been particularly popular among English supporters who like to place Saturday afternoon acca bets on the day's Premier League and Football League matches, as most of these games kick off at the same time and live scores are easy to follow via the internet or television.
Indeed, there are even some bookmakers who now allow you to keep track of the matches on your accumulator through their mobile apps. You can place accumulator bets with bet365 for example and check the scores via their own app on the move. Simply head to your open bets section and the score of each match on your accumulator will be displayed in yellow next to your selection, so you can always keep on top of your accumulator bets.
So in essence, an accumulator – or ‘acca’ as they are often referred to by experienced punters – is a bet where two or more selections are combined and the odds multiplied to reach a larger eventual payout. The more matches you back suggest longer odds and therefore larger returns/winnings.
There is rarely a limit to the number of selections you can include but you will need to get them all correct for your bet to be a winner, although some bookmakers do have maximum payouts so be sure not to add too many selections otherwise you might not get the full return on your bet.
For an example of an accumulator bet, we've included our latest Saturday afternoon accumulator tip in the next section, to give you an idea of how these work and to give you our own tip for this weekend's games if you're struggling for what to back.

What markets can I include on an accumulator bet?
There are often as many as 200 markets available on different football match so you don’t have to limit yourself to who will win the match when picking bets for your accumulator. You can place accumulator bets on Both teams to score markets, Over 2.5 goals markets, Half-time/Full-time markets and several more. You can even mix and match your selections, but with most bookmakers and with bet365 you will usually only be able to use one selection from each match.
You can even include selections from matches in different countries, different competitions and even on different days. As long as odds are available there are few restrictions as long as one outcome does not influence another within the bet. But there may be limitations in terms of any bonuses offered by the bookmakers.
It's easy to find the different markets on bet365's website. The 'Soccer' homepage will bring up a list of competitions with matches that are available to bet on in the comings days and weeks. If you scroll down underneath this list of matches, you will find a list of different markets, which you can see in the screenshot below.
Selecting one of these markets will bring up the same list of matches, but by selecting which leagues and competitions you want to see matches for this way, it will bring up a list of your selected games with the odds readily available on each match in the market you have selected, rather than the 'Full Time Result' market which will come up when you simply select the matches at the top of the soccer section of the sportsbook.
If you're looking to place different bets on different markets within your accumulator, this is easy too. Simply find the match your looking for through the Full Time Result section or any of the others, and click on the large number to the right of the match on the sportsbook. This will bring up every market available on the match and simply by clicking your desired market, it will be added to your betslip. You can do this for every match until you have the full accumulator bet that you're looking for.
Why is bet365 the best bookie to place my accas with?
You can use any bookmaker to place your accumulator bets with in theory, but we love a bookie who offer bonus winnings such as bet365. In addition to their Euro Soccer Bonus, which we will get to shortly, the website is incredibly easy to use for your accumulator bets and their mobile application is the most popular sports betting app with very good reason.
The app and online sportsbook are incredibly easy to use and the layout is a simple one that you will get used to after one or two uses. You can also track the live scores of your accumulator and you can even watch some of the matches with the live streaming service that they have available online and on your mobile devices.
Bet365 also offer an excellent cash-out service. This allows punters to decide to cash-out on their winning (or even not-winning) accumulator for a fraction of the odds. So if you're watching a game on your acca and you think the team you've backed might not be able to hold onto that slender one goal lead for the final 15 minutes of the game, you can cash-out and get the majority of your winnings anyway!
What's more, With bet365, if you get a treble or upwards all correct on outright match markets, i.e. home win/draw/away win, or match result/both teams to score, you will receive a bonus that increases according to the number of selections you have chosen.
These are the bonuses you can win:
Your selections must be picked from the English Premier League, Champions League, Spanish Primera Liga, Italian Serie A or German Bundesliga - and with the live streaming service available at bet365
you will often be able to watch your teams in action. Please be aware that if you cash out on an accumulator that would otherwise be eligible for the Euro Soccer bonus, it will no longer be eligible once you cash-out.
