Chievo play their third match in just seven days as they travel for their Serie A clash against Inter Milan on Saturday, where they hope to pick up their form and build towards a mid-table position.
Inter have been looking better with every week under Stefano Pioli and they will now host Chievo on Saturday hoping to extend their five-win streak, which we’ll back at 4/9 with BetVictor
. Nerazzurri have had their struggles this term but it surely looks they’ve put it well behind them, going into the matchup in great form!
Pioli’s side have indeed had some close calls recently, including the Udinese win most recently and the last-minute winner from Ivan Perisic. They haven’t burst with confidence but it does seem they finally have a viable campaign as contenders for the European competitions next season and Nerazzurri will very much need to maintain consistency for it to happen.
Chievo will be a good shot at it, as they haven’t really been in much of a holiday mood conceding seven goals in their last two outings (3-1 at Roma in December and 1-4 against Atalanta earlier this month) with their tough Fiorentina away played on Wednesday. We’ll thus surely see some tired legs out there, but they will have to keep their focus as they could drop as low as 15th with a loss here.
Despite being in a slump recently, Gialloblu have been very dangerous in the final third, scoring six goals in their last four matches and we do believe they’ll be able to make an impact here as well. We’ll thus go for a Yes on Both teams to score, backed at Evens with Ladbrokes
, while Over 2.5 goals FT could also attract many value seekers at 17/20 with the same bookie.
As we’ve already mentioned, Perisic has now attracted a lot of attention in the goalscoring market with two goals at Udinese reiterating his qualities under Pioli and he can be backed at 2/1 with bet365
. However, we’ve seen an in-form Mauro Icardi yet again and we do believe he’ll be able to extend on his 14-goal season total on the day so we’ll rather back him to score anytime at a good-looking 5/4 with William Hill
