Atletico Madrid will host Real Betis on Saturday at Vicente Calderon hoping to return to the winning ways after a shock loss to Las Palmas in the final minutes of their Copa del Rey clash.
Atletico Madrid have connected a five-match win streak coming into their Copa del Rey return match against Las Palmas earlier this week and although they’ve had it ended in the final minutes (2-3 loss) Diego Simeone’s side have gone through to the next round on aggregate. They will now host Real Betis hoping to return to the winning ways in front of the home crowd and we’ll back them to win with a banker bet at 2/9 with bet365
Atleti have been very confident at Vicente Calderon throughout the season and the loss to Las Palmas has been only their second there (suffered a loss to Real Madrid in November), and we don’t really see Betis causing an upset on the day. The home side currently stand 4th with 31 points earned in 17 matches and just four behind the 3rd placed Barcelona, so they will go into the match strong in need of points to make the Champions League cut!
Betis have had an unpredictable form throughout the season, boosted by a superior form at home but dragged down the Primera table with a poor spell and four consecutive losses on the road. They currently sit 14th but lag just three points behind the 8th placed Las Palmas, hoping they can build on and reinforce their mid-table position. However, that will surely be a difficult task in Madrid as they’re up against one of the best defensive lines in the league (with just seven goals conceded there this term).
The visitors have netted just two goals in their last four away days and we don’t see them causing damage here, so we’ll now go for Atletico Madrid to keep another clean sheet at 4/7 with William Hill
Diego Simeone will want Antoine Griezmann leading the attacking line, as he’s returned to his top form creating chances and converting them; bagging three goals in his last three appearances! Griezmann now has seven league goals to his name this term and we’ll back him to continue the streak and score anytime at 5/6 with BetVictor
