Manchester City v Monaco Champions League predictions, betting tips and team news here. The Citizens striker Gabriel Jesus will have to wait to make his Champions League debut.
Manchester City form
Manchester City have been strong but inconsistent in the Premier League this term. The Citizens started the season in excellent form under Pep Guardiola, but following a real loss of that form they've lost any serious chance of winning the title as Chelsea have ran clear, but the Spanish boss appears to be getting the best out of his side again in recent weeks.
Two home victories at the Etihad Stadium were enough to send the Citizens through, with one coming against Guardiola's former side Barcelona and another against Borussia Monchengladbach. The English side drew home and away with Celtic and also drew away in Borussia Monchengladbach, but were embarrassed in the return fixture of their game against Barca.
AS Monaco form
AS Monaco are in with a great chance of breaking PSG's dominance in the French top tier this season. Les Rouges et Blancs currently sit top of the Ligue 1 table with a three point gap over PSG following a seven game winless run that included six wins and a draw with Les Parisiens, but they'll need to keep that form going if they're to get their hands on an eight Championatt this term.

After kicking off the group stages with a Wembley win over Tottenham Hotspur, Leonardo Jardim's men were held to two draws before securing their route through with wins over CSKA Moscow and Tottenham once again at Stade Louis II, before going down 3-0 in their final group game against Bayer Leverkusen. The away win is priced at 5/1 with bet365
Manchester City team news
Manchester City's season has been rejuvenated by the introduction of Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus, but after bagging three goals in his first three Premier League games, the 19 year old broke his metatarsal and will be out until April. Ilkay Gundogan, who played a key role in City's form in the group stages is also out for the rest of the season.
AS Monaco team news
Monaco will travel to Manchester with almost a full strength side, with only young Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Boschilia missing. The ex-Sao Paulo man suffered a cruciate ligament rupture last week and will miss the rest of the season. Former Manchester United forward Falcao will lead the line for les Rouges et Blancs against his former rivals.
Seeing how fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur struggled against Monaco in the group stages, Manchester City will want to give themselves a comfortable lead before heading to Stade Louis II for the second leg of this clash. We think the Citizens have enough about them to get the better of the Monaco defence and earn a few goals in this first leg, so we're on them to win with a one goal handicap at 6/4 with Ladbrokes
