Champions League final 2017 predictions and betting tips - When is the Champions League Final 2017?

  • The Champions League Final 2017 takes place at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff on June 3rd
  • Will it be Juventus or Real Madrid lifting the famous trophy in the Welsh capital?
Will Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid retain the famous trophy?

The Champions League Final 2017 will take place at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff on June 3rd, but which teams will make it to the Welsh capital to battle it out for the biggest price in club football?

When and where is the Champions League Final?

The Champions League Final this year will take place at Wales' Millenium Stadium for the first time. The City of Cardiff has hosted European showdowns before as the European Super Cup was won by Real Madrid, including Welsh superstar Gareth Bale in their squad, at the Cardiff City Stadium against Seville at the start of this campaign.

The date set for the 62nd Champions League final is the June 3rd 2017 with a kick-off time of 19:45 BST. The ambassador for the final is former Wales and Liverpool goalscoring legend Ian Rush who twice won the competition during his time with the Merseyside club.

Who will play in the Champions League Final?

The confirmed Championship League finalists for the 2016/2017 season are Real Madrid and Juventus. Real Madrid are the record holders of the competition and have beaten off competition from the likes of Napoli, Bayern Munich and city rivals Atletico Madrid in the knock-out stages in order to reach the final.

Juventus meanwhile, despite being one of the most dominant forces of European football for many years, have won the competition only twice, with the most recent victory coming in 1996. Bianconeri have shown their quality in reaching the final though by beating teams such as Barcelona, Monaco and Porto along the way.

Past Winners and Finals

The Champions League is arguably the most illustrious club competition in the world. Pitting the best teams of the strongest continent in terms of football together, it's a great honour to get your hands on the trophy.

The current holders of the competition are Real Madrid, having beaten their city rivals Atletico Madrid at Milan's San Siro on penalties last year, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the winning spot kick.

Los Blancos are the most decorated side in the competition's history, with that win last year securing their 11th victory in the competition. Here's the full list of teams to have got their hands on the famous trophy, or 'Old Big Ears' as it is sometimes known due to the distinctive large handles on the trophy itself.

Our Champions League final tips

Both teams to score at 19/20 with William Hill

Juventus may have the best defence in Europe at the moment, but how many defences can realistically be expected to stop a Real Madrid attack that includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale among others?

Thankfully for Massimiliano Allegri, he has plenty of quality attacking players of his own and you have to fancy the likes of Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain to give this shaky Blancos defence plenty to think about over the ninety minutes in Cardiff.

Paulo Dybala to score at any time at 15/8 with bet365

Paulo Dybala is our goalscorer tip in this game. The 23 year old has scored 17 times this season in all competitions and he'll be desperate in Cardiff to prove he can make the difference on the biggest stage in the club game.

The Argentinian forward has already been a real threat to some of Europe's top defences this season, including Barcelona who he scored a brace against in the first leg of their Quarter Final tie. Odds of 15/8 look very reasonable to us for a goal at any time from the former Palermo man.

Match to be drawn in 90 minutes at 9/4 with BetVictor

We can see these two sides cancelling each other out in normal time. Three of the last five Champions League finals have ended as draws after ninety minutes and two of those three finals involved Real Madrid.

Juventus have grown since their final defeat to Barcelona two years back and they have the tactical intelligence to ensure this game doesn't get away from them. We can see this one being decided by extra time or penalties.
