  • Former Bolton boss now has the record as shortest surviving England boss - one game
  • Here's the most likely candidates to step in
Paddy McGuinness of England pours champagne over Sam Allardyce

Former England manager Sam Allardyce was only in charge of ONE Three Lions game before he left his job after an under-cover investigation saw him create negative headlines.

The Football Association investigated allegations he used his role to negotiate a £400,000 deal and offer advice on how to "get around" rules on player transfers. For someone who is paid £3m a year, this is a pretty disgraceful situation and one the FA can surely not ignore.

With Allardyce departing the England camp via mutual consent there will be an unexpected opportunity for somebody else and at the moment, Gareth Southgate - who is in charge for the next four games on an interim basis - is the favourite to get the job.

Next England manager odds:

11/8 - Gareth Southgate
5/2 - Ralf Rangnick
9/2 - Arsene Wenger
6/1 - Steve Bruce
10/1 - Glenn Hoddle
12/1 - Eddie Howe
18/1 - Alan Pardew
20/1 - Jurgen Klinsmann
25/1 - Roberto Mancini
