Promotions

Somewhat unusually for an online sports book, and in particular a new online sports book, for a long time there was no welcome promotion here. No bonus bet, matched bet or welcome bonus, and no ongoing promotions. However, recently this online sports book has finally introduced one – a ten percent bonus up to £100. You need to make a minimum deposit of £10 in order to gain a bonus. You may use you bonus on a single multiple bet with odds (each odd a minimum of 1/4 (1.25)) boosted by fifty percent. Because you can cash out you need to wager your deposit twice over with minimum odds of Evens (2.00) on three-way markets.

There is also a welcome bonus attached to the online casino – a matched deposit bonus up to a maximum of €150. However, you cannot use it in the sports book.

There is no loyalty points or VIP scheme either, unlike in the online casino.

In-play betting is available, as is cash-out.

Site design

The design at LVbet Sports takes a little bit of getting used to, but once you're accustomed to it, it works well enough. This is a very basic, non-flashy site that does not bombard you with advertising banners and special deals – it's all about the betting, which is good to see.

To get betting, you just click on the 'Sports Betting' tab – this will give you a list of the sporting markets available. There's a slight, untidy design flaw in that the size of the font used is two big for the icon boxes, so sports with long names such as 'American Football' do not fit in the box.

Clicking on a sport will take you through to a list of nations, and then another click will give you a list of competitions, and finally another click will give you a list of events. You might consider this quite a laborious process to go through in order to find a specific event, and few would argue with you.

All the odds associated with each win/lose scenario are presented along with the competitors, and you can see other available betting options at the end of each line, which you click to expand. If you click on any outcome then that wager gets added to your betting slip. You have to then go into your betting slip, add the value of your wager, and finally confirm your bet.

Cashier options

The site accepts debit and credit cards, Skrill, Neteller and Sofort. The minimum amount you can deposit is €10, and the maximum is €5,000 (€2,000 for Sofort). There are no fees for deposits, and they are processed instantly.

You can use most of the same methods for withdrawals, and you can transfer directly to your bank. The minimum accepted withdrawal is €20, and the maximum is €5,000. Withdrawal times are nice and fast – just a one day pending period followed by less than a day's wait (eWallets) or one to three days (credit and debit cards). Again, there are no fees involved.

Conclusion

There's no doubt that LVbet Sports' heart is in the right place, but the application of their sports betting offering is very poor. To have absolutely no promotions is a sports betting sin, for a start, and the design flaws makes the site look amateurish. They are downright misdirections as well – the '24/7 live chat support' is not live chat support at all – you just fill in your question and a pop-up pops up saying 'the LVbet team will get back to you shortly'. This is no more 'live chat support' than sending an email.

In short, LVbet Sports has a long, long road to travel before it can seriously be regarded as a worthwhile place to indulge in a bit of sports betting.
