Southampton and Liverpool go head to head in the EFL Cup semi-final first-leg this week and we're expecting an entertaining contest as Jurgen Klopp's men look to set the tone from the very first whistle.
Whenever Liverpool play these days, it's normally good to watch. Klopp promised 'heavy metal football' when he arrived and we are definitely seeing the thinking behind this. The Reds play every game to win, attack at pace and are usually pleasing on the eye.
Their best form and results have come at Anfield, but on their day they are just as dangerous on the road and we'll see this against Southampton. If they can take a victory to the home leg of this semi-final, they'll surely be guaranteed a trip to Wembley?
Technically, a draw would be a good result for Liverpool too. It makes it a one-off game at Anfield, something they'd be favourites to come out on top of. There's no way they will play for this though.
Start on the front foot, let your quality shine, be clinical and win the game. That'll be the message.
Looking at the odds, Liverpool are 11/8 with Skybet to get the win on Wednesday. This shows that they are favourites, but that it will be far from an easy task. Southampton need something to rediscover their form and perhaps a big cup tie under the lights in front of their home fans is the way to go.
After all, it's not been a great few weeks for the Saints. They are still in a decent league position, but this perhaps papers over the cracks of their failure to hit the heights of last season. Something is missing from their approach this time around.
It's three Premier League defeats in a row and in terms of performances and team selection - manager Claude Puel has started to get some criticism from the Southampton fans.
Perhaps victory in this one would turn things around for them, but we can't see it. They'll perhaps raise their game more than they have done over Christmas, but if this game opens up, there's only one team winning it.
