Getting the action underway on Saturday is an early kick-off between Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham. The home side sit bottom of the table and are the underdogs, but they will take heart from the shock win at Chelsea last time out in the league.

For Spurs, they are hoping for more of the same after winning three of their last four away games. They have also scored six in their last two matches on the road and will be going all out for victory on Saturday lunch-time.

From 3pm, there are seven matches taking place, so it is set to be a very busy afternoon. The pick of these is possibly Aston Villa v Southampton. These two are only just out of the bottom three and separated by a single point. It is a massive match with regards to the relegation battle.

Norwich v Newcastle is another eye-catching fixture. Both teams will start looking over their shoulders if they fail to pick up three points in this one. They could both do with a morale boosting victory too after a disappointing run of form.

Elsewhere, Fulham and Wigan go head to head at Craven Cottage, Everton play host to Swansea, West Ham travel to Sunderland and Reading will be aiming for a second successive home win as they take on West Brom.

There will then be plenty of interest in Stoke City v Chelsea from the Britannia Stadium. The away side – with Demba Ba in their ranks - are the favourites, but the Potters are always a dangerous animal on home soil.

Moving on to Sunday and it really is a Premier League day to look forward too. First of all, Manchester United and Liverpool go head to head from 1.30pm. These two rivals have exchanged many blows over the years and this latest battle should be very entertaining.

United go in as the team to beat, but Liverpool have been impressive in their last three matches and with Daniel Sturridge hoping to impress on his Premier League debut for the club, there is plenty of attacking threat for the home side to deal with.

If this wasn’t a big enough game for a Sunday afternoon, it is then time for Arsenal v Manchester City from 4pm. The Premier League Champions need three points to stay in touch with their local rivals, while the Gunners are determined to force their way into the top four.

On their day, these two are arguably the best teams to watch in English football and it should be a fantastic finale to the weekend’s action.
